The Mission

Team Zambia 09Seven years ago,  Cedarview Community Church sent a team to help build a home for orphans at the Village of Hope in Kitwe Zambia. VOH-Kitwe has been greatly blessed with the establishment of the 13 Children’s homes and 8 youth homes, Agape school and on-site medical clinic.  Village of Hope Kitwe is the first of many fully functional children’s care facilities established under VOH-Africa ministries.

Moving Forward » Chongwe Project 2010

God has now called another team together to help build a 2nd home for orphans, this new site will be in Chongwe, Zambia.  Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada missionaries Alan & Geneva Wright have begun the great work of establishing this new VOH site that will house, educate and care for resident children and as well as children in the surrounding community. In October 2010, a team of 12 people from Cedarview will travel to the Village of Hope in Chongwe. The team will begin construction on an all brick children’s home expected to house 8 – 10 orphaned children.

Our goal is to complete construction of a single home for the Chongwe site within the 2 week time period alloted.  The team will bring school supplies, clothing and toys to support the crucial work of getting the VOH-Chongwe site operational.   Just as the Kitwe site was richly blessed through God’s provision and grew from 1 child to over 100 children in 5 years, we trust that God will continue His great work of changing the lives of African children forever and prosper this ministry as only He can.

The team will also conduct various Children’s minsitry sessisions on-site and gain an opportunity to know and grow with the many children already in attendance at the VOH-Chongwe school.
